Merrimens, is known for their unbelievable dinner service and views of Kapalua Bay but when they’re offering their brunch menu it is divine. 808 Grindz, is a hidden gem in Lahaina offering local plate lunches but specializing in breakfast, three words: get there early. Their smoothies, açaí bowls, and avocado toast are so good. Choice Health Bar, this is one of my top favorite cafe’s on Maui I come here almost every day while on island and you cannot go wrong. Papa Aina, is probably my new favorite brunch spot, the menu changes frequently to keep up with what is seasonal.

Now that you have your arrival day in the books and you’re prepped for your first full day of vacation, let’s get into the rest of our restaurant recs… Tamura’s Fine Wine & Liquors for good Poke options as well and Maui Prime Fine Foods: where we used to get all of our specialty meat and seafood. We prefer to either start at Tobi’s Shave Ice, for their Suicide Poke Plate, stop at Maui Kombucha to grab a gallon full of hard kombucha on tap and possibly a pizza from Flatbread Pizza Co. Lots of tourists flock to Costco the second they land but we’re gonna give you a few better ways to start off your trip. Setting up your room up with the essentials, is well, essential. So, after all these years, from tourist to local and back again- we put together our MAUI HIT LIST with local secrets and hidden gems. The amount of poké and kombucha we devoured during our beach seshs’, the empty cane fields where we caused trouble at night, the waterfalls we chased and the secret spots we stumbled upon kept us wanting more. Planting our feet back on the rock in the middle of the pacific ocean that we once called home always feels so nostalgic, it instantly invigorates all of our senses.
